    PUBLIC NOTICE
    GENERAL ELECTION AND QUALIFYING FEES
     
     
    In accordance with O.C.G.A. §§ 21-2-13(a)(1)(A) and 21-2-131(a)(1)(B) notice is hereby given that the City of Metter will hold a General Election on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 for the purpose of electing a mayor and two council members from the following districts for four-year terms:
     
                MAYOR
    Mayor     At Large     Term beginning 01/01/2018 ending 12/31/2021
     
                CITY COUNCIL
    Seat 2         District 1      Term beginning 01/01/2018 ending 12/31/2021
    Seat 4         District 2      Term beginning 01/01/2018 ending 12/31/2021
     

    The qualifying fee for the position of mayor is $171.00.

    The qualifying fee for the city council position is $81.00.
     
    In accordance with section 21-2-132(d)(3) of the Georgia Election Code and Rules of the State Election Board the qualifying period shall begin Monday, August 21, 2017  at 8:30 a.m. and run through Friday, August 25, 2017 at 4:30 p. m. at City Hall, 49 South Rountree Street, Metter, Georgia.
     
    The voter registration deadline to vote in the November 7, 2017 election is October 10, 2017.
